An oversized T-shirt should fall loosely and feel like you. The right size depends on how much width and length you want. Your usual clothing size is a useful starting point; actual garment measurements help you make a more informed choice.
1. Start with a piece you enjoy wearing
Choose a T-shirt, hoodie or pair of trousers whose fit you like. Compare the same type of product wherever possible: a thin T-shirt and a brushed hoodie fall differently. Lay your reference garment flat without stretching it and note the measurements shown in the corresponding KAYF chart.
The KAYF size guides show garment measurements in centimetres. A width measured flat is not a body circumference. Compare width with width rather than comparing a chart width directly with your chest circumference.
2. Decide how you want your oversized fit to look
Do you prefer plenty of room or a more restrained loose fit? Start with width, then compare length, which helps determine how far your top falls below the waistband. Sleeves also shape the look. In our top size guides, the sleeve measurement runs from the base of the neck to the sleeve end.
Do not automatically size up just to achieve an oversized look. KAYF oversized T-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts already have a relaxed cut. Use the numbers to decide which size suits your preference.
3. Use model details as another reference
The product page gives the model’s height, weight and worn size to help you interpret the photographs. People with similar heights and weights can have different proportions, so your reference garment is still useful.
Check the specific product. For the Forest Green basic T-shirt, the model is 177 cm tall, weighs 74 kg and wears size M. Model details can differ between other pieces and colours.
4. For trousers, check the waist and length together
Our cargo trousers and joggers charts show flat waist widths unstretched and stretched, length and leg opening. Check every measurement: a suitable waistband alone does not tell you where the trousers will end.
